Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ImpactED. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use ImpactED.

1. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You're responsible for anything that happens under your account, so keep your password secure and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • You must be old enough to legally agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction to create an account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

2. Roles on the platform

ImpactED has three kinds of accounts, and the same person can hold more than one role:

  • Students browse, enroll in, and complete courses.
  • Instructors create, publish, and manage their own courses.
  • Admins moderate content and manage platform-wide settings.

3. Enrolling in and purchasing courses

  • Course prices are set by the instructor and shown before you enroll. Some courses are free.
  • Enrolling in a paid course grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access that course's content for as long as it remains available on the platform — it does not transfer ownership of the content to you.
  • You may not share your account or enrollment access with anyone else.
  • If a course is removed by its instructor or ImpactED after you've enrolled, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you and, where appropriate, offer a resolution.

4. Instructor content

  • You retain ownership of the courses, lessons, and media you upload as an instructor.
  • By publishing a course, you grant ImpactED a license to host, display, and deliver that content to enrolled students as part of operating the platform.
  • You're responsible for making sure you have the rights to everything you upload, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights.
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, and may decline to publish or may unpublish a course at our discretion.

5. Acceptable use

When using ImpactED, you agree not to:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or misleading.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
  • Circumvent enrollment or payment requirements to access paid content.
  • Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's normal operation, including through automated scraping or excessive requests.

6. AI course assistant

The AI assistant offered to instructors is a drafting aid. Suggestions it generates — course structure, descriptions, or lesson content — may be inaccurate or require editing, and instructors are responsible for reviewing and publishing only content they've verified as accurate and appropriate.

7. Intellectual property

The ImpactED name, logo, and platform software are owned by us and may not be used without permission. Course content remains the property of the instructor who created it, subject to the license described in Section 4.

8. Disclaimers

ImpactED is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that course content is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose, and we aren't responsible for the quality of instruction provided by individual instructors. We work to keep the platform available and secure but don't guarantee uninterrupted access.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ImpactED isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to these Terms or the platform is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You may stop using ImpactED and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continuing to use ImpactED after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
